New Years Day, Sri Govinda Dham, Uki

Celebrate the first day of 2019 at the Bhakti yoga temple in Uki. The day is also a celebration of Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu who appeared in West Bengal, India almost 600 years ago. Singing and dancing through the streets, Mahaprabhu demonstrated the ecstatic path open to all through the power of the Maha Mantra.  11am to 3pm. Or for those who are really keen to start the year on an auspicious note, you are welcome to join the traditional dawn 'arati' ceremony  at 5:30am.  1244 Kyogle Road, Uki

Friday 04 Jan
Mullumbimby Civic Hall

We can conceive that the centre of Reality must be the reservoir and fountainhead of all love, sweetness and ecstasy. Can we conceive of our relationship with that Divine centre as being two-sided, whereby even more than our own attempts, from the other side is a loving search for us?  A deeper insight into the infinitely dynamic, revolutionalry  conception of Gaudiya Vaisnavism and an opportunity to ask those burning, unresolved questions of the heart. 6-8pm

Friday 18 Jan
Sunrise Kirtan @ Marks Park, Tamarama

Anyone who gets up during that magic light before sunrise knows it is definitely the most beautiful and energetically clear time of the day. If you haven't greeted the day on these Bondi cliffs here at sunrise, make sure you make it down for a giant,  super-charged kirtan, followed by a free vegan, non-caffeine chai. 5:30 - 6:30am.  BYO cushion and mug.

Yoga Synergy, Newtown

In our busy world, if we can at least manage to set up a 'spiritual sandwich', of our day, meaning a good morning and evening practise, then during the middle of our day when generally we have so many 'worldy' duties to take care of, our minds and hearts should be nicely balanced.

So after our sunrise kirtan, we will end the day with reflections on "The  Posture of Surrender" at one of Australia's most highly regarded yoga schools, Yoga Synergy, in Newtown. An informal discussion of the the practise of bhakti yoga as a means to connect with our real selves, our ultimate life's purpose and how to carve out and sustain the best path toward our divine aspiration.
